Reconciliation Action Plan

Our Commitment to Reconciliation

At Milestones Early Learning, we believe every child deserves to grow up in a world built on respect, inclusivity, and connection to culture. That's why we're proud to be part of Affinity Education Group's reconciliation journey, one grounded in genuine reflection, understanding, and action.

Affinity Education has developed its first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), endorsed by Reconciliation Australia. It sets out the meaningful steps we're taking to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, and cultures across our centres, our curriculum, and our workplace.

What Does This Mean for Families?

When your child attends a Milestones centre, they're learning and growing in an environment that celebrates and respects Australia's First Nations peoples. From Acknowledgements of Country to authentic, hands-on experiences, our educators thoughtfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into everyday routines and play-based learning.

It also means we're building inclusive spaces for every family, where curiosity is encouraged, cultural learning is part of daily life, and respectful relationships are nurtured from the very beginning.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan in Practice

Our Reflect RAP is just the beginning. It sets out how Affinity Education will:

  • Providing cultural responsiveness training for all staff
  • Partnering with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander educators, artists, and organisations, including Wandana Aboriginal Education
  • Celebrating cultural events such as National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week
  • Creating more opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment and supporting First Nations-owned businesses
  • Fostering inclusive practices across all Milestones centres

These commitments are woven into our Lifelong Learning Curriculum, giving children the chance to learn about culture, land, stories, and community in a meaningful, age-appropriate way.
