Big Steps for Busy Toddlers
Early Experiences (1-3 Years)
Toddlers are full of energy, ideas - and a few big feelings too.
At this age, your child is discovering their voice, their independence, and the joy of exploring the world. It’s an exciting (and sometimes exhausting!) stage, and we’re here to support you both.
Our Early Experiences program, designed for toddlers aged 1 to 3 years, provides a safe, nurturing environment where your child can build confidence, develop language, and begin forming positive relationships.
It’s all part of our exclusive Lifelong Learning Curriculum - Australia’s most advanced early education framework, designed to support your child from babyhood through to school.
“Language-rich, emotionally supportive environments in the toddler years help shape a child’s ability to think, express themselves, and form relationships for life.”

Learning Through Language, Every Day
Language is at the heart of toddler development, and our program is based on the Abecedarian Approach - a globally recognised method that uses everyday interactions to build strong communication and thinking skills.
Our educators use the 3a language program to support learning through:
- Conversational reading
- Learning games
- Enriched caregiving moments
These strategies help your toddler become a confident communicator and capable learner, ready for preschool and beyond.
What Toddlers Learn
Every day is filled with opportunities to:
- Build vocabulary and express emotions
- Practice social skills and make friends
- Develop independence through routines
- Explore creativity with music, art, and pretend play
- Strengthen thinking through sorting, building, and problem-solving
Designed for Discovery
Our toddler learning environments are full of warmth, movement, and language-rich play. Your child will explore a range of exciting learning zones:
- Discovery Zone – exploring new materials and ideas
- Toddler Talk – building vocabulary through guided conversations
- Book Nook – encouraging early literacy and a love of stories
- Little Artists – hands-on creativity and self-expression
- Imagination Station – pretend play and social learning
- Completely Connected – building social and emotional skills
- Move and Groove Zone – dance, movement, music, and fun
- Construction Zone – stacking, sorting, building and problem-solving
These spaces are thoughtfully designed to support your toddler’s learning through exploration and play.
The Second Step in the Lifelong Learning Curriculum
The Early Experiences program is the second stage of our Lifelong Learning Curriculum, which supports children from birth to school age through play-based, research-informed learning. Each stage builds on the last, helping your child grow in confidence, skills, and curiosity.
