How to Enrol in Childcare
A Simple Step-by-Step Guide to Joining Milestones
Choosing the right childcare centre is an exciting step for your family. At Milestones, we've made the enrolment process as simple and straightforward as possible, and our team is here to support you every step of the way.
Step 1 - Find Your Centre and Book a Tour
Visiting a centre in person is the best way to see if it's the right fit for your family. Use our Find a Centre tool to search by postcode, or call our Family Support Team on 1800 244 532 to arrange a tour at a convenient time.
On your tour, you'll meet our educators, explore the learning spaces and get a feel for the daily routine. Take our Childcare Centre Checklist along to help you know what to look for.
Step 2 - Apply for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS)
The CCS can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket childcare fees. To get started:
- Check your eligibility at Services Australia
- Apply through MyGov
- Have your CRN (Customer Reference Number) and your child's CRN ready for enrolment

Step 3 - Gather Your Enrolment Documents
To complete enrolment, you'll need:
- Your child's birth certificate or passport
- Medicare details
- Immunisation History Statement (available via MyGov or Medicare)
- Emergency contact details
- Any relevant medical information (allergies, special requirements)
Step 4 - Secure Your Place
Some of our centres fill up quickly. If your preferred centre has limited availability, we can add you to the waitlist and keep you updated. Our team can also help you explore options at nearby centres. A quick call each month helps us know you're still interested and keeps your place active.
Step 5 - Prepare for Your Child's First Day
