Milestones Early Learning South Tamworth provides high-quality child care and early education for children aged 0–5 years in a nurturing, nature-connected environment where children feel safe, supported and inspired to grow. Conveniently located at 116–118 Kent Street and open Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, our long day care centre is a much-loved part of the Tamworth community.
Our passionate team of educators are dedicated to helping each child develop confidence, independence and a love of learning. With beautifully designed indoor and outdoor learning spaces — including a large playground featuring a climbing tree, veggie and flower gardens, and a hands-on construction shed — we encourage exploration, creativity and meaningful play every day.
Guided by the Lifelong Learning Curriculum — Australia’s most advanced early education framework — our programs support development across STEM, language, literacy and social-emotional learning. We also offer a government-approved preschool program to ensure a smooth and confident transition to school.
Children at our centre enjoy a variety of engaging incursions, including educational shows and regular library visits, which help them connect to their local community and expand their learning experiences beyond the classroom.

Meet Our Team
Shelly Chester, Centre Director at Milestones Early Learning South Tamworth, brings a decade of experience in early childhood education and holds a Bachelor of Education (Birth-5 years). Her journey in the field began ten years ago when passionate mentors inspired her to pursue a career in early learning. Starting as a trainee, Shelly quickly discovered her own passion for fostering a love of learning in young children.
Shelly believes the early years are critical for setting children up for success in their academic and personal lives. Guided by a play-based, discovery-driven approach, she creates a nurturing environment where children are inspired to explore, investigate, and develop life-long skills. She finds joy in witnessing the wonder of a child’s discovery and treasures the opportunity to see the world through their eyes.
Under Shelly’s leadership, Milestones South Tamworth is a special place where children and educators come together to grow, learn, and create lasting memories.
